Kinja'd!!!

My work software just froze so I'm posting what I meant to post last night. I don't know why that light is so bright, it really isn't bright at all. In fact it's dim enough that I've been meaning to order an LED bulb to replace it.

"Hot" in quotes so all you FiSTers don't get up in arms about my only-210-ft-lb-torque (supposedly) Sonic not being a hot hatch.

Please tell me the cat flies the plane?

(Your Sonic would probably be described as a 'warm' hatch in Europe.)

It's a warm hatch here too. However, I contend that if the Fiat 500 Abarth is a hot hatch, my Sonic is too because tuned it produces similar power and weighs not a lot more.

The 500 Abarth's on the borderline here - plenty of people see it as more of a 'warm' hatch - though I'll confess that I don't know too much about them; they're not as popular in Europe as they seem to be in the US. The regular 500 does very well, but it's got a pretty poor reputation among enthusiasts, because it's generally seen to handle a fair bit worse than most of the rest of its class, and I think that reputation's stunted the Abarth's sales somewhat.

...

Hypothetically speaking, do you think the plane could lift the cat?

The 500 Abarth isn't all that popular here either...

And no, the plane absolutely could not lift the car. It's bit by RC plane standards, but it's not a very big airplane. It weighs about 15 pounds, and I'm betting if I really tried it could lift maybe 40? I'm not going to try though...it's not designed for lifting things.

It has a wonderful engine note, but - and this isn't based on any kind of personal experience - that would appear to be all it really has going for it, in the face of competition like the Audi S1, BMW MINI Cooper S, and the racier Citroen DS3s.

Build a bigger plane. With a cat-shaped hole.

Oh CAT not CAR.

Yeah, the plane could lift the cat, but she wouldn't fit anywhere on it. Nor would I do that to my cat. The cat only weighs 12 pounds.

The Abarth is fun. I've driven one. Engine sounds good, it's a torquey little bugger, handles like a go-kart. But the seating position is awful, for the money it doesn't offer a whole lot, and it's very small. There's better options for the money, although they've been discounted so much that it's appealing.
